Sweet Sixty

Panda!!!!'s been spending a lot of time in the 'burbs this week. Last night, I returned to the parents' house to take Panda!!!!Pop out for his sixtieth birthday. The real date isn't for another week or so, but we decided to celebrate while everyone was in town.

We went to a "fine dining" establishment where we treated ourselves to four courses (and a wine pairing for Panda!!!! and Panda!!!!Pop). It was a lovely meal and the food was excellent, but probably could have been more interesting, given the steep prices.

One of the most interesting dishes was the arpege egg, a specialty of this particular restaurant. It was a partially cooked egg with seasoning and maple syrup. Kind of what I imagine a McGriddle sandwich would taste like, only fancier.
