Each day in my misguided quest for home ownership brings a new challenge. I learned yesterday that, in order for my mortgage application to be approved, I would have to open a new account with the bank. So, basically, I just forked over $100 to the bank, to keep in a zero-interest account for the duration of my mortgage. And all I got was a lousy calendar.

What, no toaster?

Oh, is that all? I thought maybe you converted someone and they didn't give you your toaster. Quotas have been raised, I hear; converting one person is only good for the set of rainbow-themed potholders anymore. The toaster takes five.
